Karen Charman
As Head of Employment Services at NHS Employers, Karen leads and directs the work of the employment services function, incorporating workforce planning; recruitment and retention; health, work and wellbeing; modernising health professions; and employment standards; recruitment and retention; health, work and wellbeing; modernising health professions; and employment standards.
She also acts as a key representative with members and stakeholders driving forward NHS Employers’ employment services programme of work across the UK.
Karen joined NHS Employers from Hinchingbrooke Healthcare NHS trust in April 2009 where she was acting deputy chief executive and director of performance.
Karen is also a registered nurse and returns to this once a month, keeping her connected with the needs of staff and patients, and the delivery of quality care.
